Population Density in Minnesota

The following maps display information on the population density of Minnesota's cities and townships (Minor Civil Divisions). The population densities displayed on these maps is expressed as the number of persons per square mile for each city or township.

Population density is used by government officials and businesses to assess the potential demand for many kinds of services. It is also studied carefully by researchers in the social sciences and is believed to have important impacts on economic and social conditions.
